Star Guitars Guitar Paintings:

Nothing defines rock and roll quite like the electric guitar, according to artist Michael Babyak. So it’s only appropriate that the instrument be properly immortalized in art. Other music-based artists have attempted such feats by focusing on the player.  Babyak’s paintings have the guitar itself at center stage.  Around the guitar, the energy of the music and the musician is exemplified using vibrant color and overlapping imagery specific to the musician’s career. 

From well recognized guitars like Jimi Hendrix’s Woodstock Stratocaster, Bruce Springsteen’s Esquire Telecaster, Eddie Van Halen’s Frankenstrat and Joe Strummer’s Tele to the guitars with names like B.B. King’s ‘Lucille’, Keith Richards’ ‘Micawber’, Neil Young’s ‘Old Black’ and Jerry Garcia’s ‘Tiger’.  Babyak’s paintings celebrate the instrument as well as the musician. 

Through this series of “Star Guitar” paintings, Babyak shows deep, heartfelt appreciation to both the musician and their axe of choice for their contribution to the world of music.
